Stories of Impact
Behind every meal we serve is a story of impact. Hear from Houstonians we've served during crisis.

Hear Jesse's story, a TSA employee affected by the 2019 government shutdown.
Jesse has been working for the TSA for 16 years. The 2019 35-day partial federal government shutdown left thousands of federal workers without paychecks.
Though this isn't his first government shutdown, he said "this one seems different."
He was afraid that he'd have to choose between his diabetes medicine or paying the mortgage. Jesse was able to turn to one of the Food Bank's food distributions. Getting the food he needed left him with "one less bit of stress."
"This pantry is a true blessing"
"This pantry is a true blessing. I was so surprised at the amount of food that is given to each car. The food you get is food you are going to use on a daily basis. Fresh fruits vegetables meat. I want to thank everyone who take out their time to come out and help with this process. Thank you."

"They provide food to hundreds of people every week"
"Circumstances have been that I've needed some help with food and Bethel's Heavenly Hands have been a tremendous blessing in my life. They help provide food (and many other things) to hundreds of people every week.
They have a great system that allows people to pick up food twice a month and have learned to balance the idea of treating people in a respectful manner along with sticking to their rules. If you are struggling to have enough food for either yourself or your family stop by Bethel any morning Monday - Thursday and talk with them. They have servants hearts plus the resources to help you with whatever your need is."
