Hunger Can’t Wait
Our city is facing a crisis—and we can’t afford to wait. Due to recent federal funding cuts, the Houston Food Bank is now receiving 40 fewer trucks of food per month. As the largest pantry partner of the Houston Food Bank, Bethel’s Heavenly Hands is feeling the impact in a drastic and immediate way.

Our Community is Facing a Crisis
Our ability to provide food assistance to Houston’s most vulnerable families is being severely threatened. What once allowed us to offer supplemental meals five days a week will now only stretch to three days a week. That means hundreds of families may go without food for two days—each and every week.

This is not just a supply chain issue. This is a crisis of dignity, health, and survival. Hunger can’t wait.

Increase in the pricing of food supply from $0.20 per pound to $1.00 per pound. This is due to a need to use wholesale suppliers for additional pallets of food.

Our Response
We’re launching the Hunger Can’t Wait campaign to raise emergency funds to fill the gap left by disappearing federal supplies. These funds will:

Purchase high-need staple foods to supplement shortfalls.
Extend weekly pantry distributions back to 5 days per week.

Support logistics and volunteer mobilization to scale operations.
Ensure children, seniors, and working families do not go hungry.
